Hybrid WPA Annual Meeting in Rancho Mirage Focuses on Prepping for the Future

When you end up with lemons, why not make lemonade? The COVID-19 pandemic may have resulted in the postponement of WPA’s 2021 Annual Meeting from January to April but allowed in-person attendees to enjoy even nicer weather. It was WPA’s first “hybrid” annual meeting, including a video feed of presentations for remote attendees, in addition to the in-person meeting and the sunny Palm Springs area weather for those who could attend in person. 

What a year it’s been,” Scott Gutierrez of Commercial Lumber & Pallet, the incoming WPA president, told attendees. “I think it is safe to say we have had a lot of ups and downs this year - struggles and challenges to say the least. I am so grateful to see all of you here safe and together. with all that we have been through.”

pertinent direction and information as we were all trying to navigate through these difficult times with COVID,” remarked Beatrice Vasquez, WPA outgoing president.  “We all served as essential businesses together in unchartered territory!    Association memberships have demonstrated how we can all help each other especially in times of need.”
