The National Wooden Pallet and Container Association (NWPCA) and the Western Pallet Association (WPA) advocate for the wood packaging industry, working hard to elevate the industry voice and advance industry priorities. This is an especially important task during the implementation of a new administration. President Biden has placed a specific focus on the environment and sustainability. The wood packaging industry, and our core and primary issues, have a direct role in a sustainable supply chain.
NWPCA continues to build and maintain bipartisan relationships in the House and Senate that help us advance policy that supports our industry. Recently, NWPCA invited and received Representative Antonio Delgado (D-NY) to our government affairs committee meeting. Delgado’s district is the third most forested district in New York, close to the U.S./Canada border, and the ninth most rural in the nation. Many of our issues align with his policy priorities. He also represents the district in which the Cary Institute resides, an organization that has previously called for the move away from solid wood packaging in international trade. On the call, we were able to discuss many policy issues that are critical to our industry.
