JANUARY 2023

Nic Wilson, the current membership chair, has hit the ground running. “Everyone I’ve talked to has been incredibly impressed,” he said of the 2023 Annual Meeting.

“This is my first year being membership chair and part of the executive board and we’re in a better position than we ever have been,” he remarked, citing the rollout of Pallet University as one example of the association’s progressive thinking.

“As I talk to new members, they are very impressed with how friendly the other members are, and their willingness to help,” he observed.

“ At other events I attend there can be thousands of people and you just seem to get lost in a sea of people. You don’t make genuine connections. Here at WPA you keep on coming back time and time again because you make genuine connections.

"With WPA," he concluded, "if you show up once, you keep on coming back to see those friendly faces.  We are more of a boutique style event and I think people appreciate that more.”

Membership chair is a big job, and it relies on members bringing in new members. Each year, WPA offers two $1,000 prizes - one for the member who sponsors the most new members, and one for a draw winner among everyone who has sponsored at least one new member. It is never too early to get involved in the membership drive!
