The 777 collection by Smith + Rogue pays tribute to the brave vigilantes of Montana . This legendary group emerged in the late 1860s to restore order to lawless towns . They are famously associated with the numbers 3-7-77 , which adorns the patch of the Montana Highway Patrol today . While no one knows the exact meaning of 3-7-77 , some say it represented 3 hours , 7 minutes , and 77 seconds to get out of town . Either way , this collection was made to honor the famous Montana vigilantes .
