Multi-media artist Jamie Lester, works in his warehouse studio in Monongalia County. In recent months, the Beckley native has been hard at work sculpting a statue of David Crockett that was commissioned by the City of Nashville, Tenn.
“ I never dreamed I would become a‘ bronze sculptor’, but I knew I could make money from my art in a commercial field. I made portraits in clay for the monument memorial industry— bronze plaques— mostly for grave markers. I was a tomb sculptor.”
