Jeannette and Wayne Justice have separate workshops to accommodate their different processes . As a certified master electrician , Wayne taught himself the art of making copper jewelry . Jeannette is self taught , too , having taken advantage of workshops and collaborations .
off-grid lifestyle that has required us to do lots of work together over the years . So , working in business together has come naturally in many ways and in many other ways has given us many opportunities for personal growth .
“ It has required us to be encouraging to each other and use our personal strengths to contribute to the shared business . We are grateful to share this aspect of our lives ,” she said .
Jeannette is the one who contrived the name for the business .
“ I came up with the idea for the name for the business for several reasons . First of all , we live on Elgood Mountain .
“ Rainbow glass is a type of dichroic art glass that , especially when textured , is highly reflective and shows a rainbow of colors . I really enjoy the qualities of this glass .
“ Rainbows are also significant to the work of Joseph Rael , a Native American Ute and Picuris Pueblo visionary who has been very influential in my personal work in the study of sound healing and
vibration ,” she explained .
“ I do create my glass pieces in my workshop at home . We both do have separate workshops to create in as our process is very different for each type of art ,” she noted .
Wayne worked as a certified master electrician for more than four decades and taught himself the art of making copper jewelry .
“ I am mostly self-taught , but have taken one workshop years ago , and have also had collaboration with other glass
