trailing off . “ If it stood still for 10 minutes , I glued a shell on it .” Yeargan has crafted hundreds , if not thousands , of pieces since that first barrette . She has set up a table to sell her wares a handful of times , but she ’ s given everything else as gifts . “ When I find somebody really likes shells , I just like to share them ,” she says . And the items she has shared most are the picture frames she decorates with pieces from her colorful collection . It ’ s with those frames that Yeargan combines both the comfort she ’ s found on the Sanibel shorelines as well as the hope and peace she ’ s found in the words of the Serenity Prayer and the 23rd Psalms .
• • • Initially , Yeargan ’ s shell-lined frames with copies of the Serenity Prayer were gifted to friends and others she felt might benefit from the words .
