WVE AWARDS PROGRAMS
The West Virginia Executive ( WVE ) Health Care Hall of Fame — launched in 2020 — celebrates hard-working health care professionals from many different professions , including doctors , nurses , educators and scientists . These individuals go above and beyond to make the Mountain State healthier and happier . Nominees must have held their current position and lived in the state for at least the last two years , made a lasting impact on the state ’ s health care industry and have a passion for improving health in the Mountain State .
2026 Nomination Deadline : November 1 , 2025
WVE ’ s Sharp Shooters award program features ten of West Virginia ’ s most accomplished professionals , all of whom have done exceptional things in their fields and devote their free time to helping their communities . Nominees must be West Virginians 44 years of age or older , have been in their West Virginia-based position for at least five years and have actively participated in community service and philanthropic efforts .
2026 Nomination Deadline : February 2 , 2026
WVE , in partnership with the West Virginia University ( WVU ) College of Law , created the Lawyers & Leaders program to recognize the legal professionals whose meaningful work has made a positive impact on the state and beyond . Nominees must either practice in the Mountain State or be a WVU College of Law graduate , have made substantial contributions in their careers , have a record of community service and have a lasting positive effect on the legal profession .
2025 Nomination Deadline : May 1 , 2025
WVE ’ s first award program , Young Guns , recognizes professionals who have made significant contributions to the Mountain State ’ s success . Filling each class of Young Guns are the young leaders making a positive impact in both their careers and communities . Nominees must be 43 years of age or younger at the time of the November induction , have lived in West Virginia for at least the past two years , have held their position for at least the past two years and have accomplished a significant amount of community service efforts .
