CONCLUSION
Changes in BMI are associated with changes in systolic blood pressure , mean arterial pressure , cardiac output , and systemic vascular resistance in early gestation . Our data indicate that increasing obesity is associated with elevation in cardiac output and a decrease in systemic vascular resistance . With the knowledge that obesity is a significant contributor to adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes , noninvasive hemodynamic testing offers the opportunity to further explore clinical and basic science research into the pathologic cardiovascular alterations of the pregnant patient with obesity . Further research is needed to categorize hemodynamic parameters and explore potential interventions to improve pregnancy outcomes for gravidas with obesity .
