SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION secure the seed capital necessary to build a minimum viable product and beta test it, conduct voice of the customer research in the hospice and home health markets and write a book that spotlights the company’ s method. The book is titled“ Vital Behavior Blueprint: 5 Steps to Embed Mission-Critical Habits into Your Organization’ s DNA.”
“ The blueprint helps organizations identify the vital behaviors that matter most, design the behavioral ecosystem to support them, activate ally networks to support new habits and reinforce habits through measurement and feedback,” Smith says.“ The book serves two key functions: it’ s a major lead generator and it helps organizations tailor Ally Assist to their unique needs.”
Though Performance Ally is still in the early stages of development, it has already made a clear impact on the West Virginia community. The company has five full-time employees— two living in the state— and has employed eight software developers over the past year. Smith says Performance Ally also uses local resources whenever possible.
“ We plan to build a help desk and an organizational behavior lab in West Virginia as well as hire additional local programmers,” she says.“ My previous consulting company was also built in West Virginia because of WVU’ s world-class Behavior Analysis doctoral program, and we intend to continue tapping that talent.”
While health care remains central to Performance Ally’ s work, interest from other industries is growing rapidly. A recent engagement with a major oil and gas company demonstrated the platform’ s broader applicability. By identifying four critical behaviors during joint job site visits, frontline teams reduced process safety events by 80 %— results that have been sustained over time.
“ The company’ s long-term goal is to weave our comprehensive Vital Behavior Excellence system into its annual business planning cycle so it can spot strategic objectives at risk and address behavior variability proactively,” Smith says.
More recently, Performance Ally has been invited to participate in emerging cybersecurity initiatives in West Virginia. With nearly 80 % of cybersecurity failures driven by human error, workarounds or inconsistent process adherence, Performance Ally’ s large-scale behavior change system will help reduce this human behavior risk.
“ I’ m grateful for West Virginia’ s support,” Smith says.“ I’ m determined to turn that support into lasting impact— at home and globally.”
