The Greenbrier
While visiting The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, guests can fully immerse themselves in the site’ s traditional scene by taking part in a horse-drawn carriage ride. A National Historic Landmark, The Greenbrier has a vibrant past, and by taking part in this activity, guests can experience first-hand the way patrons traveled through the resort long ago.
Regular carriage rides last for 50 minutes at a time. Rides are offered year-round, but during winter, the resort offers an additional 20-minute sleigh ride through the snowcovered streets, making for a unique Christmas experience in a winter wonderland. Both adventures begin at Kate’ s Mountain Adventures and take guests throughout the resort, where they can experience the beauty of the landscape and discover all there is to do at The Greenbrier.
Stonewall Resort
The Stonewall Resort, located in Roanoke, WV, is home to Stonewall Jackson Lake, which hosts the Stonewall Marina. While staying on property, guests can head to the marina and take part in numerous water activities, whether it’ s a serene boat ride along the marina, an adventure on a kayak or a quiet fishing trip.

At the marina, guests can find everything they need from boat rentals and a place to launch to a retail store, picnic areas and fishing sites. Pontoon boats are available to take out on the lake as well as CraigCats, two-person speed boats that glide over the water. The marina will also soon be offering a new passenger boat tour of the lake.
The Stonewall Marina will open in April, so while spending some time away at the resort, be sure to stop by and experience a day on the water.
Pipestem Resort State Park
There are few better ways to experience the Mountain State’ s natural beauty than by touring it from the air, getting a full view of the vast wooded landscape and colorful foliage from above. At Pipestem Resort State Park in Pipestem, WV, you not only sleep among this natural setting, but you can also ride through it on the Pipestem Aerial Tram.
