On December 17 , West Virginia Executive ( WVE ) hosted its Celebrate the Northern Panhandle reception at Vagabond Kitchen in Wheeling . At the event , professionals from around the state were able to come together and discuss their upcoming plans and recent accomplishments .
“ I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and connect with other professionals in Wheeling ,” says Tim Borchers , president of West Liberty University . “ Growing partnerships and collaborations is an important part of West Liberty University ’ s strategic plan . I look forward to future events .”
Herb Faulkenberry , vice president of sales and marketing for Oglebay Resort Park , emphasized how the event helps West Virginia ’ s businesses learn more about each other and gives attendees an idea of what is happening around them .
“ West Virginia Executive ’ s events are always excellent from a networking standpoint ,” Faulkenberry says . “ The networking that we ’ re able to do because of the events the magazine puts on not only helps further our business levels but also gives us insights into everybody else ’ s business levels so we have a good barometer of what ’ s going on in the state .”
Lea Ridenhour , chief advancement officer for The Linsly
School , says the Wheeling community is appreciative of the Celebrate the Northern Panhandle special advertising section highlighting all the area has to offer . She also touches on the importance of community in the Mountain State .
“ Kensie Hamilton Fauber and the staff of West Virginia Executive do an amazing job of highlighting and engaging business and community leaders from the entirety of the Mountain State ,” Ridenhour says . “ Their efforts to host a pre-holiday reception in Wheeling , to host it at a local Wheeling business , Vagabond Kitchen , and to highlight all that Wheeling has to offer during their visit certainly did not go unnoticed by those of us who were fortunate enough to attend . Their Celebrate Wheeling reception exemplifies what Kensie and her staff do best : building community and partnerships among business leaders statewide . That sense of community among business leaders in the state is what I love most about living and working in West Virginia . No one knows a stranger here , and everyone is willing to consider the creative partnerships that help propel West Virginia forward .”
The Celebrate the Northern Panhandle reception provided an example of how the state ’ s businesses can come together and support one another . WVE continues to promote meaningful connections and help its professionals form bonds that drive innovation and create opportunity across the state . •
