UC Welcomes New Vice President of Communications and Marketing
The University of Charleston ( UC ) announces C . J . Harvey as its next vice president of communications and marketing following a national search .
Harvey most recently served as director of communications for Governor Jim Justice , where he oversaw statewide branding and messaging initiatives across multiple state agencies . He played a key role in developing and promoting campaigns that highlighted West Virginia ’ s economic resurgence , record-setting tourism growth , major infrastructure projects and historic tax reforms .
In addition to his public service role , Harvey co-founded Mountaineer Media , a digital platform dedicated to sharing the West Virginia experience through positive storytelling and innovative content development . Previously , Harvey worked as an anchor and reporter for WCHS-TV , where he received an Edward Murrow award for breaking news coverage , along with an Emmy nomination and Associated Press award for his high school and college athletics coverage .
