Since nearly the beginning of West Virginia Executive ’ s ( WVE ) existence , the magazine has highlighted groups of young , ambitious and talented West Virginia citizens each year through the Young Guns awards program . It is these very people who exhibit exceptional determination and propel themselves toward success in their respective careers that set the course for the future of the Mountain State .
Young Guns are West Virginians ages 43 or younger at the time of their induction who have lived and worked in the state for at least two years , excelled in their careers and given back to their surrounding communities .
WVE celebrated the 10 members of the Class of 2024 inside the elegant West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston . The inductees who were honored were : Ashley Alford Glance , president of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce ; James Bailey , West Virginia Secretary of Commerce ; Jessica Hall , director of communications and development for HospiceCare ; James Moore , president and associate professor of music for West Virginia Wesleyan College ; Ann Marie Murray , M . D ., associate professor of neurology and movement disorders division chief for West Virginia University ’ s Rockefeller Neurosciences Institute ; Heather Ouimette , director of sales and catering for The Resort at Glade Springs ; Christopher Pankey , Ph . D ., assistant professor at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine ; Lindsey Kerr Piersol , executive director of the Parkersburg-Wood County Area Development Corporation ; Ashley Rine , vice president of operations for PureTech Scientific ; and Christopher Willis , chief human resources officer and director of human resources and marketing for SDI Family of Companies .
The photoshoot for the Class of 2024 took place at various locations throughout Oglebay , including The Good Zoo , Schenk Lake , Aerial Challenge Course , Arnold Palmer Signature Course , Bissonnette Gardens , The Oglebay Glass Museum , Wilson Lodge , Oglebay Stables , Anne Kuchinka Amphitheater and the Crispin Center . The resort in Wheeling , WV , offers 2,000 acres of overnight accommodations and recreational events available all four seasons of the year .
