While West Virginia ’ s lush green landscape and rolling mountains bring beauty to the state , its people bring the determination and creativity necessary for prosperity . The Mountain State is continually evolving because of incredible leaders driving the state forward through hard work and dedication in both their careers and communities .
West Virginia Executive ( WVE ) is thrilled to highlight the Mountain State ’ s world-class leaders by recognizing a group of West Virginians who have diligently worked to make the state better and stronger . The members of the Young Guns Class of 2022 are inspirational individuals making their mark in the region . Whether they are spearheading tourism efforts , saving lives in hospitals or running successful businesses , each member of this year ’ s class has one common goal : contributing to the progress of West Virginia .
Since 1999 , WVE has shed light on these changemakers . Young Guns are West Virginians ages 43 and younger who have lived and worked in the state for at least two years , excelled in their respective careers and given back to their surrounding communities .
The Young Guns Class of 2022 was honored at a reception on November 18 , 2021 , at the West Virginia Culture Center . Inductees Lisa Costello , Kevin Eagan , Justin Henry , Josh Jefferson , Sara Payne Scarbro , John Ramsey , Chelsea Ruby , Chris Weikle , Donteako Wilson and Keli Zinn have accomplished incredible feats . They are proud to live and work in the Mountain State . With the help of sponsors Edward Tucker Architects and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Central , this event was a welcome space for networking and celebrating successes .
This year ’ s Young Guns photoshoot took place at locations designed by Edward Tucker Architects , including Stephen J . Kopp Hall at Marshall University , the Mountain Health Arena and Highlawn Elementary School . The Huntington-based firm has a 25-year history of creating spaces that inspire , innovate and transform their industry — much like the Young Guns themselves .
Not only was the Young Guns Class of 2022 recognized at the reception , but the inaugural Junior Aces Class of 2021 was announced . WVE recognizes young entrepreneurial minds as one of the Mountain State ’ s greatest natural resources , which is why Junior Aces was created . The honorees were awarded full scholarships to the Youth Leadership Association Teen Entrepreneurship Summit where they can hone business skills and further their impact on the Mountain State .
