Since becoming a mother , I have started looking at life in West Virginia a bit differently . I have always loved the state and enjoyed that my chosen profession allows me work hard and be a constant cheerleader for the West Virginia I want for my children . As we craft each issue of West Virginia Executive , I can ’ t help but think about the economy , job opportunities and education my children will inherit .
Each year , the Executive Ink team goes away for a weekend retreat . Due to the coronavirus pandemic , this obviously did not happen this year , but we still carved out some time to
plan the 2021 calendar year . When we slow down and put our heads together , we usually have a few a-ha moments . The first of those moments that we are excited to share with you is our first-ever West Virginia Real Estate Relocation Guide , which you can find in this issue .
I see this project as an opportunity for West Virginia that will pay dividends for years to come . Part of our work at the magazine is to help foster conversations among intelligent leaders across the state to better our future . The partnerships and growth opportunities that could stem from new residents joining the Mountaineer family is just one potential benefit .
West Virginia has always been thought of as a very friendly state . It is wonderful to know that as more people move to the Mountain State — whether for the opportunities it provides , access to our amazing outdoor adventure amenities or simply for more room to roam — our people will welcome them with arms wide open and teach them what it means to be a West Virginian . •
