West Virginia is truly a land of opportunity . Outsiders may not realize this fact , but those who have become successful within the Mountain State understand the role it has played in their career achievements and prosperity . Whether they are transplants who moved to West Virginia for the first time to start a new job that turned into a lifelong career or natives who started their own companies from the ground up , business leaders know Almost Heaven is a great place to find success .
In the same vein , West Virginia Executive magazine knows that Young Guns — no matter their backstory or relationship to the Mountain State — have utilized the resources available to them here and have experienced what the state has to offer firsthand . They have also taken the time to give back to their state and communities , passing along the hope of accomplishment and progress to others , and the members of the Young Guns Class of 2021 are no different .
By taking advantage of every opportunity provided to them , this year ’ s Young Guns are excelling in the world of business while also finding time to help others prosper . They give back to their communities and volunteer valuable time and resources . This spirit of service is what keeps West Virginia going . Young Guns are aware of the special role West Virginia played in getting them to where they are , and so they do what they can to pay it forward and continue helping their beloved state and its people .
The Young Guns Class of 2021 was honored at a reception on November 17 , 2020 , at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences , where the photoshoot for the award winners also took place , showcasing the center ’ s planetarium , music hall and sculpture garden . While the event looked different than in previous years — with masks , social distancing and friendly waves instead of handshakes — its purpose was the same : to bring together those who work diligently toward making West Virginia the best it can be . The Young Guns and their commitment to service were properly recognized and celebrated .
