Editor’s
When I accepted an internship with West Virginia Executive
(WVE) magazine in the spring of 2011 as a sophomore in college,
I only hoped the connections I made would one day lead to a
career in print journalism. I never imagined I would end up here.
In January, long-time editor Jennifer Jett Prezkop left WVE to
pursue a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with the American Red
Cross. As I step into her role as the magazine’s editor in chief,

connect with us:
is an enormous responsibility I do not take lightly. West Virginia
is filled with people dedicated to developing and strengthening
our workforce, economy, infrastructure, education, government,
businesses and hospitality industry and changing the way those
both inside and outside the state view its people and potential, and
to choose only a few of them to showcase in each issue is a feat.
I look forward to the coming months. I already know they
will be challenging and rewarding, stressful and significant.
I am excited to learn new things, meet new people and travel
to new places in my home among the hills, and, more than
anything, I pray God will use me in this position to make an
impact on the state I love.
