The health care industry has
always been important to West
Virginia and to the staff at West
Virginia Executive magazine.
Health care has been the
theme of our winter issue for
years, and we’ve strived to detail
who the major players are, how
changes to health insurance
impact West Virginians, which
major ailments affect our people the most, what medical
research is being conducted and how technological advances
are moving the Mountain State forward. This is why we felt
that installing a health care-specific honor as our fourth and
final awards program was the perfect fit.
With the Winter 2020 issue, we are launching the West
Virginia Health Care Hall of Fame, a program to recognize
those who go above and beyond in the health care industry and
its supporting industries, including doctors, nurses, hospital
administrators, educators, researchers, scientists, innovators
and entrepreneurs. Nominees must have been in their current
position and lived in West Virginia for at least the last two
years and have a passion for making the Mountain State a
better, healthier and happier place to live. Most importantly,
they must have made a significant contribution to the state’s
health care industry.
We thought it was important to focus on these amazing
people and what they have brought to the health care industry
in West Virginia because while the state does have its challenges,
it is also home to these smart and innovative winners who are
changing the landscape of the Mountain State and the health
of her residents.
We hope all of our awards programs inspire those who are
still searching for their passion project in West Virginia, those
who are considering leaping into new projects and those who
have put in years of hard work to continue to make West Virginia
a wild and wonderful place to live.
We would love to have your nominations for the 2021 West
Virginia Health Care Hall of Fame, as well as our other three
annual awards programs. The nomination forms for all four
