Valley Health-Oakwood Road is Valley Health’s first clinic in Charleston, opening inside Fruth Pharmacy’s retail location at 864 Oakwood Road. The new site features QUICKCARE services that include expanded hours for patients seeking care for minor illnesses and injuries without an appointment. Staffed by two board-certified family nurse practitioners, the health center also accepts patients by appointment and is a resource for primary care, physicals and more. The new site is Valley Health’s second collaboration with Fruth Pharmacy within the last year. Valley Health cut the ribbon on a new, $6.5 million community health center in Milton in early November 2019. The 15,000-square-foot facility includes a full-service Fruth Pharmacy. Valley Health-Milton is home to 11 providers who together offer family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, behavioral health, clinical pharmacy, diabetes education and QUICKCARE services with dentistry services coming soon. Valley Health is also bringing all its pediatric services for the Teays Valley region under one roof with a child-friendly location in Scott Depot. Valley Health-Teays Pediatrics features three physicians and a family nurse practitioner who are com- mitted to the growth and well-being of infants, children and young adults. It is Valley Health’s fourth Putnam County site. West Liberty University Expanding Clinical Space in Hall of Health Sciences West Liberty University’s (WLU) College of Sciences recently announced the renovation of the vacant fourth floor of Camp- bell Hall of Health Sciences, which will expand clinical space Campbell Hall. for its growing health science programs and offer additional community outreach. “This is great news for our region and for our students interested in health care professions. The renovation work will start in April and should be complete by August 2020,” says President Stephen Greiner. WLU is working with Perfido, Weiskopf, Wagstaff + Goettel, the same Pittsburgh-based architectural firm that built Camp- bell Hall, which opened in 2014. The current expansion will finish about a third of the space available on the fourth floor. One of the spaces is intended for an all-new psychology lab to support the recent addition of the Master of Arts in clinical psychology degree program that began in the fall of 2019.
