A HIDDEN GEM
IN WEST VIRGINIA
AHF Products’ manufacturing plant in
Beverly, WV, will celebrate 30 years of
manufacturing in the spring of 2020. The
Beverly facility is the largest pre-finished
hardwood flooring plant in North America,
producing 200,000 square feet of fin-
ished solid flooring every day. The plant
is best-known for producing the Bruce
brand of hardwood flooring, but it also
produces Hartco, Robbins, Capella and
other private labels. The plant employs
more than 600 people, which puts over
$25 million in wages into the local econ-
omy. To support such a large operation,
the plant purchases more than 87 million
board feet of Appalachian lumber per
year from four species of trees: red oak,
white oak, hickory and maple.
The plant’s footprint has a far greater
reach than its direct and indirect economic
impact on the Tygart Valley because
the plant makes a deliberate effort to be
involved in local schools, conservation
groups and charitable organizations.
The AHF Products Beverly plant is a
well-kept secret West Virginia needs to
know about. All of West Virginia should
be proud that AHF is the world leader in
solid hardwood flooring production—a 100
percent sustainable industry. Responsible
logging practices by its suppliers actually
improve the forests while sawdust gener-
ated during manufacturing is used to fire
boilers to dry the lumber or goes into other
building products.
