In addition to financial support from
United Bank, these community partners
benefit greatly from United’s passionate
employee volunteers. The United Bank
Community Reinvestment Act Action
Committee was recognized as one
of the strongest employee volunteer
programs among banks in the nation
by the American Bankers Association
Foundation in 2018.
Like many cities across the country and
state, Huntington has been seriously
affected by the opioid crisis. United
Bank has taken special interest in
organizations helping combat this
devastating issue. Employees donate
their time and energy assisting these
organizations, including presenting a
financial literacy course specifically
designed for individuals in recovery
programs.
“Giving back to our communities
has always been at the forefront of
United’s mission,” says Huntington
Market President Andrew Dawson. “In
the Huntington area we have been
able to give our time and resources to
a number of organizations year after
year and truly make a difference in
the lives of many.”
It is this commitment to each of its
local communities and the dedication
of its employees that have made
United West Virginia’s Bank. Once a
small single-office bank in Parkersburg,
United is now the largest publicly
traded company headquartered in
West Virginia with more than 50
locations across the state, including
four in the Huntington area.
What further differentiates United
Bank from its competitors is its
focus on building personal, lasting
relationships with its customers and
providing them with unmatched
service. This commitment to service
extends beyond banking and can
be seen in United’s commitment to
the Huntington community. United
strongly supports the My Huntington
movement and the revitalization of
all the communities it serves.
