New Mural at Legal Aid of WV
Artists pose with their designs used as inspiration for the mural seen behind them.
On April 8, 2026, Legal Aid of WV( LAWV) unveiled the new PlaySpace mural at their location on Charleston’ s West Side.
This mural was a partnership with the Charleston Office of Public Art, made possible by funding from the Mayor’ s Office – City of Charleston.
The mural began as a concept to involve kids and local artists. Seven children aged 4-7 designed creatures for the mural that were then fully realized by seven Charleston-area artists.
The artists and their young partners were Rob Cleland and Isaiah; Wes Eary and Henry; Jeff Pierson and Arionna; Meish Claus and Gabe; Diane White and Olympia; Abby Masel and Jillian; and Blake Wheeler and Winston.
The artists created a hand-painted space background inside the lobby space of LAWV’ s Charleston office. The final versions of the creatures were then applied to the mural.
Seven Bordas & Bordas Attorneys Named to Super Lawyers List

Most recently, Jamie negotiated a $ 2.65 million settlement in a wrongful death case. Linda, a partner at Bordas & Bordas, founded the firm with her husband, Jim Bordas, and has secured numerous multimillion-dollar settlements including Davis v. Wang, a case that affected West Virginia law regarding jury selection and juror bias in medical negligence cases.
Brown, a partner at Bordas & Bordas, recently helped secure a $ 3.77 million medical malpractice verdict on behalf of Julie Daley following a four-day trial in Ohio County, WV. Brown has been recognized as a West Virginia Super Lawyer for 14 years. Blass has been recognized as a West Virginia Super Lawyer for 16 years. During more than 30 years of practice, Blass has litigated complex civil cases and obtained seven-figure verdicts and
settlements across a broad range of practice areas.
McCabe has secured multimillion-dollar settlements in trucking accident cases, including a $ 10 million settlement in Doe v. Trucking Company and an $ 8 million settlement in Smith v. Royal Flush, Inc., et al. Monahan has been recognized as a West Virginia Super Lawyer since 2020 and fully briefed and argued Smith v. Bayer Corp. before the U. S. Supreme Court. The court issued a unanimous decision in favor of the West Virginia class-action plaintiffs.
Anderson focuses his practice on employment law, personal injury, medical malpractice, premises liability and commercial litigation. Most recently, Anderson argued before the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia in a racial discrimination case and obtained a unanimous $ 20.5 million verdict in his clients’ favor. •
