Editor’ s Journal
T his fall, I will be making my way to Morgantown to join the West Virginia University( WVU) College of Law Class of 2029. So, the timing could not have worked out better with my last issue as editorial and production manager at West Virginia Executive( WVE) being the Legal & Advocacy issue.
As a soon-to-be law student, working on this issue has been eye opening in more ways than one. Not only have I gotten to know the incredible members of the Lawyers & Leaders Class of 2026, many of which are fellow WVU alumni and possible future colleagues, but I have also had the opportunity to research and write about many legal topics that help me feel so much more prepared to jump into my studies. Some of these pieces, like“ Closing West Virginia’ s Legal Desert Gap” and“ Where the Law Connects: West Virginia’ s Legal Ecosystem,” cover subjects that carry a lot of importance in the legal sector that I never would have thought to look into before.
Throughout my time at WVE, I have gained more experience with our wonderful state and its business community than I could have ever imagined. For the past two and a half years, I have had the privilege of meeting many of the state’ s most impactful legal professionals and telling their stories, and I feel so lucky to have them to look up to as I embark on this intimidating, yet exciting, journey.
Working at the magazine has instilled confidence in me to go out and accomplish my goals that I do not think I would have gained anywhere else. While I am excited for this new chapter, I will always cherish the time I have spent here, and I am so grateful for each wonderful day I have spent as editorial and production manager.
