Celebrate Harrison County Reception
KENZIE DYE
West Virginia Executive hosted its Celebrate Harrison County Reception at Charles Pointe in Bridgeport on June 26. The event brought together leaders from businesses, government organizations and communities to honor the region’ s economic momentum and collaboration.
“ I enjoyed attending a well-earned celebration for Harrison County at West Virginia Executive’ s reception at Charles Pointe,” says Jonathan Board, executive director of the West Virginia First Foundation.“ Having worked and lived throughout the U. S. and U. K., I can say West Virginia is the greatest place for both professional and personal growth. With welcoming communities, new development opportunities and advanced market potential, there’ s no place like it. Most importantly, the Mountain State is filled with the very best people— those who look out for one another, celebrate each other’ s victories and offer support in times of need.”
Michael Queen, deputy secretary of state and director of communications for the Office of West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner, echoed this pride and praised the region’ s potential.
“ I ' m a proud eighth-generation West Virginian. The Queen family has called the Harrison County area home since 1750,” he says.“ Harrison County is a great place to live, work, start a business, raise children and retire. The feature story in West Virginia Executive was a great opportunity to highlight the public-private partnerships that make Harrison County the economic driver it is for all of North Central West Virginia.”
For Kimberly Moyers, vice president and managing director of strategic engagement for First United Bank & Trust, the reception highlighted the values that define the region.
“ Living in North Central West Virginia means being part of a community that values connection, resilience and authenticity,” she says.“ Those are the reasons I chose to work and raise my family here. It’ s invigorating to be part of a culture that not only celebrates those virtues but also showcases development and sustainable growth across a variety of sectors.”
The evening underscored the energy, partnerships and shared vision that continue to move North Central West Virginia forward. •
