Each year, the West Virginia Executive( WVE) team sets aside a weekend to reconnect, refocus and recharge. This year, we had the privilege of doing just that at Snowshoe Mountain Resort.
Surrounded by panoramic mountain views and crisp summer air, we spent time mapping out our goals for 2026, exploring exciting new changes and brainstorming ways to continue improving both our print and digital offerings. These conversations, away from the hustle of daily deadlines, helped us realign and look ahead with a fresh perspective.
Of course, no WVE retreat is complete without a little adventure. After wrapping up our meeting, we explored Snowshoe Village, grabbing lunch at Sunset Cantina and ice cream at The Village Scoop. We then hopped on the scenic ski lift before embarking on our guided
ATV tour to the Sunset Cabin for a delicious catered dinner. Shoutout to Summerlin and Andy for being the coolest ATV guides and the rest of their team for preparing our food!
We’ re so grateful to Snowshoe for hosting us and giving us the space to reset. Company retreats are more than a break from routine. They serve as a reminder of what makes a strong team: communication, trust and a willingness to both challenge and support each other. This is especially important for small teams. Stepping away from the office and into nature allowed us to reflect on the year so far and prepare for what’ s ahead.
As we move into the second half of 2025, we’ re ready to keep doing what we love most: sharing West Virginia’ s success stories one page at a time. Farewell folks! •
