West Virginia Executive Summer 2024 | Page 8

Letter from the

The team that brings you the West Virginia Executive each quarter is small but mighty — and don ' t forget hilarious . We do a lot of laughing while writing , editing and designing story content .
Each year we make a point of traveling out of town for our company retreat . This year we had the opportunity to explore Fayetteville , stay in a luxury cabin at River Expeditions , push ourselves during our time at the Timber-Trek Adventure Park at Adventures on the Gorge , manage to escape from The Secret Bunker escape room at Escape-A-Torium and eat entirely too many pimento cheese fries at Secret Sandwich Society .
Our goals while we enjoy all that is wild and wonderful not only include team bonding but also annual planning . This is the time we put our heads together and create the outline of what we will publish for our readers over the next year .
During our 2024 retreat , we also had a unique experience that helped shape communication for our team due to the kindness of a wonderful client and more importantly — friend , Staci Miller at WVU Industrial Extension . She administered DiSC assessments to each person and explained how the different mindsets work within our organization . It was an eye-opening experience and something we often refer to in the office well after the retreat .
I hope you enjoy this issue with a special appearance from our Profiles publication as well as the content we are preparing for the year to come . Thanks for reading ! •
