Celebrate Cabell County Reception

West Virginia Executive hosted its Celebrate Cabell County Reception at the Marshall Health Network Arena on June 25 in Huntington . The reception brought together a vibrant mix of business leaders and community members .
" As a lifelong resident of Cabell County , I ' ve always chosen to see the forward momentum and positive energy our county has , and I was so happy it was going to be spotlighted by the amazing folks at West Virginia Executive magazine ,” says Lee Dean , senior field representative for the West Virginia Secretary of State ’ s Office . “ The event was an amazing networking opportunity as many stayed the entire time that evening cheering for and applauding each other .”
Jim Kaufman , president and CEO of the West Virginia Hospital Association , says the best part of the reception was the opportunity to connect with business leaders from different sectors of West Virginia ’ s economy .
“ Personal connections and relationships are critical in business and in making a strong community ,” he says . “ The reception brought together leaders from so many different parts of the community that I would not have met without such an event . We need more of these social events to help grow the community as more people from outside of West Virginia move into the area ."
Marie McCauley , an architect and project manager at Silling Architects , touches on the broader impact of such events .
" One of my favorite parts of working and living in West Virginia is the real ability to make a tangible positive impact in our community ,” she says . “ The result of a great program , initiative or well-planned building has such a far reach , and its influence is limitless . This is one of the reasons I like going to events like the Cabell County reception — to meet folks with a similar mindset and desire ."
The night was a testament to the community spirit and collaborative efforts that define Cabell County . •
