Nick Sparachane , senior vice president and partner of USI Insurance Services , has made significant contributions in the insurance industry , local government and various business ventures .
Sparachane ’ s career began with his family ' s business , Undo ’ s Family Restaurants , where he learned the importance of cost control and customer service from an owner ’ s perspective . This early experience laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors in insurance and business management .
In his current role , Sparachane specializes in the commercial and industrial sectors across a five-state area . With over four decades in the insurance industry , his expertise and leadership have set him apart in a highly competitive field .
In 2000 , Sparachane became the mayor of Wheeling , WV , a position he held until 2008 .
“ I have always loved our city ,” he says . “ I believe Wheeling is a great
place to raise a family and do business . We are close to the major markets in the country and have an outstanding quality of life .”
During his tenure , he focused on the city ’ s development and future growth , earning the trust and support of his constituents by winning every precinct in two consecutive elections .
His dedication to public service is also reflected in his involvement with various organizations , including the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce , Ohio Valley Business Development Corp , Wheeling Hospital , Wheeling University and the Ohio Valley Construction Employers Council .
In addition to his political career , Sparachane has made significant strides in the business world . He is the chairman of Main Street Bank , West Virginia ’ s ninth-largest bank , and owns Undo ’ s Family Restaurants , which has three locations in the Upper Ohio Valley . He is also a partner in the Alpha Restaurant in Wheeling and co-owner of the Just-Us and CCIP development companies .
Sparachane attributes much of his success to the values instilled by his parents .
“ I saw in my mother and father a tremendous work ethic and a sense of high ethical principles ,” he says . “ They had a great sense of customer service in addition to a great attitude in treating employees as family .”
Family is central to Sparachane ’ s life . Married to his wife , Patti , for 45 years , they have five children and seven grandchildren , and they continue the tradition of family Sunday dinners . He considers his family his greatest achievement , a testament to his belief in strong family values . •
