I cannot believe it has already been a year since I joined the West Virginia Executive ( WVE ) team . I am not sure that I ever saw myself working at a print publication , but I am glad I seized the opportunity when it presented itself because the journey so far has been quite rewarding . Time truly must fly when you are having fun .
During this past year with WVE , I have evolved in a number of ways both personally and professionally . I have become more confident in my ability to delegate tasks and comfortable asking for help when needed .
One of the experiences of my first year that stands out was participating in the Leadership Kanawha Valley ( LKV ) program , which I wrote about in my last letter . My final LKV session was in May , and I walked away with much more than a certificate of completion . The program provided a unique opportunity to meet a diverse group of people and build connections that will undoubtedly last for years to come . Sharing this journey with my
bestie , Erin Noon Flatley at the Charleston Area Alliance , made the experience even more memorable .
In the next year , I look forward to covering the themes of each issue . This fall , the WVE team will delve into learning about food and agriculture . These are not only essential and interesting topics but also areas that have a profound impact on the Mountain State .
In the winter , I am thrilled to have the opportunity to meet more of our health care heroes when selecting the Health Care Hall of Fame Class of 2025 . Our health care professionals ’ dedication and contributions to their communities are truly inspiring , and I am eager to learn their stories and celebrate their achievements .
As I reflect on my first year with WVE , I am grateful for the experiences and growth it has brought me as well as the talented people I have met along the way . The journey has been incredibly fulfilling , and I am excited to see what the future holds . Until our next issue , fare thee well ! •
