Potomac Valley Hospital ( PVH ), a 25-bed critical access hospital serving Mineral County , WV , and Allegany County , MD , is a proud member of the West Virginia University ( WVU ) Health System . Its membership in the WVU Health System has helped the hospital grow its stable of services to include behavioral health , integrative pain management , wound care , oncology and infusion services , cardiology , orthopedics and urology . This growth in services has increased the PVH workforce from 271 staff members in 2017 to 382 staff members today . These staff members play a pivotal role in making PVH the quality hospital that it is .
Through PVH ’ s front line councils , staff from all levels contribute to the creation of hospital policies and procedures . This inclusive approach has enabled the hospital to provide care of the highest quality . Over the past year , PVH has seen no catheter urinary tract infections , central line associated blood stream infections , bed sores or venous thrombo-embolisms among its patients . PVH ’ s focus on patient care is reflected in its mission : at PVH , staff strive to treat every patient like family .
