AWARDS RECEPTION
Former President John Quincy Adams once said , “ If your actions inspire others to dream more , learn more , do more and become more , you are a leader .”
On May 30 , 2023 , at the West Virginia Culture Center and State Museum , West Virginia Executive celebrated 10 of many homegrown leaders who continuously strive to push the Mountain State toward lasting success through its annual Sharp Shooters awards .
Sharp Shooters are a group of individuals 44 years of age or older who are making a noteworthy impact on the Mountain State . These individuals have been in their respective positions for at least five years and are actively involved in their communities and the pursuit of cultivating a brighter tomorrow for all .
This year ’ s award recipients are as follows : Kendra Boggess , Ph . D ., president of Concord University ; Anne Bolyard , Ed . D ., mayor of the City of Fairmont and director of corporate and foundation relations for the Health Sciences Center for West Virginia University ; Carte Goodwin , partner in charge at Frost Brown Todd LLP and vice chair of the West Virginia Bar Appellate Committee ; Eddie Keefer , president and owner of Keefer ’ s Powersports , Keefer ’ s Rentals and Mountain State Harley-Davidson ; Lieutenant Colonel Bob Luther , commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 19th Special Forces Group ( Airborne ) with the West Virginia National Guard ; David Nolan , senior investment strategist for McKinley Carter Wealth Services ; Don Robinson , president of MVB Financial Corp .; Paul Smith , executive chef and owner of 1010 Bridge , The Pitch Sports Bar & Grill and Ellen ’ s Ice Cream ; Frank Vitale , president and CEO of Forge Business Solutions ; and Linda Wigal , regional vice president of sales for Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia .
