West Virginia Executive Summer 2018 | Page 62

Editor’s Note: The data for this map was provided by the West Virginia Department of Transportation. In an effort to highlight a variety of projects from every region of the state, the following were chosen by the staff at West Virginia Executive based on location, size, start date and scope of work. This map is not a comprehensive list of the road projects that have been or will be completed under the Roads to Prosperity initiative. This upgrade to the Mountain State’s transporta- tion infrastructure will not only lead to major repairs on the state’s aging roads and bridges but will also create jobs and help pave the way for economic recovery. This map offers a visual representation of just a few of the hundreds of roads projects planned or in progress across West Virginia in 2018, including resurfacing; paving; adding lanes; widening roads; repairing drains, guard rails, ditches, shoul- ders and slide damage; and replacing and installing bridges, culverts and grates. 
