[ contributors | summer 2016 ] Dr. Rusty Kruzelock Dr. Rusty Kruzelock is the executive director and CEO of the West Virginia Regional Technology Park Corporation. Kruzelock has more than 25 years of technology and business development experience in biotechnology, chemistry and advanced materials, including his previous roles as the director of the Advanced Diagnostics Research Laboratories for the U.S. Air Force’s Office of the Surgeon General, advanced diagnostics team leader for the Air Force Epidemic Outbreak Surveillance Program and head of the pharmacogenomics department for the Cancer Therapy and Research Center’s Institute for Drug Development. Greg Mandt Greg Mandt is the program manager for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-R Series, or GOES-R. During his 14year tenure as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, Mandt held several management and executive level positions, including acquisition manager of the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program. He is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College program management course, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanics from the U.S. Air Force Academy and master’s degrees in systems and electrical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Maggie Matsko Maggie Matsko is the marketing coordinator for Auge+Gray+Drake Collective Works, an advertising agency located in Charleston, WV. Matsko is a graduate of West Virginia University, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism. She serves as a board member for Education Elevators and Goodwill Industries of the Kanawha Valley, Inc. and is the communications committee chair for Generation Charleston. 16 west virginia executive Robbie Morris Robbie Morris is the executive director of the Randolph County Development Authority and West Virginia Wood Technology Center. He has a bachelor’s degree and MBA from West Virginia Wesleyan College and is a graduate of Leadership West Virginia. Morris was appointed to the Broadband Enhancement Council by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin in 2016. He also serves on the boards of several organizations, including West Virginians for Better Transportation, Region VII Planning & Development Council, West Virginia Economic Development Council, West Virginia Hardwood Alliance Zone and the Robert C. Byrd Corridor H Highway Authority. Dawn Nolan Dawn Nolan is the public relations supervisor for the Boyd County Public Library in Ashland, KY. She graduated from Marshall University in 2010 with bachelor’s degrees in English and psychology. A former Executive Ink, LLC intern, she has written for more than a dozen publications over the course of her career. Nolan is a Huntington, WV, native and currently resides in Flatwoods, KY. Samer Petro Samer Petro is the office manager and senior structures project manager for Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. A longtime Morgantown resident, he has more than 20 years of relevant transportation and project management experience, ranging from location studies to the analysis of alternative structures, highways and roadways. Petro routinely follows each project through final design, including the complete development of plans and specifications to contract administration-phase and construction-phase services. He is a licensed professional engineer in West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in civil engineering from West Virginia University. Katlin Swisher Katlin Swisher is the communications specialist for the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University (WVU). Originally from Hurricane, WV, she graduated as a summa cum laude and university honors scholar with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 2012, and she earned a master’s degree in higher education administration in 2014. She is currently pursuing a doctor of education in higher education administration at WVU. Tracy Toler Tracy Toler scaled Seneca Rocks at the age of 5 and has been reaching new heights ever since. Through his business, Tracy A. Toler Photography, he has become a leading pioneer, serving as creative director and feature photographer for many of the region’s largest magazines. Known among his peers as Mr. McGyver, he can fix anything with a bobby pin, rubber band or Swiss Army knife. This comes in handy at home with his two daughters. Scott Zemerick Scott Zemerick leads TMC Technology’s commercial systems division and brings 15 years of commercial and government experience to TMC and NASA. He graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University’s College of Engineering and Mineral Resources with a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering and master’s degree in electrical engineering. Prior to joining TMC, Zemerick worked for NASA, GE Aircraft Engines and a commercial startup company focusing on sensor integration. His areas of expertise include spacecraft and CubeSats, embedded systems, middleware, modeling and simulation and unmanned vehicles.
