Regional Focus COMPILED BY SAMANTHA CART Williamstown Bank Announces New President and CEO The board of directors of Williamstown Bank has promoted Sharon Anderson to president and CEO. Anderson has been with the bank since 2002, serving in capacities such as balancing clerk, assistant office manager, assistant vice president, bank security officer, vice president of operations and senior vice president. “The board of directors has full faith in Sharon’s ability to run the day-to-day operations and lead us into the future of community banking,” says Board Chairman Alan Criss. Anderson is an active member of the Rotary Club of Wood County and currently serves on the Camden Clark Foundation Board and the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid- Ohio Valley government relations committee. She is a 2012 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in history from King University. Sharon Anderson. “I am excited for the opportunity to help lead Williamstown Bank into the future, keeping our niche customer service for which we have been known for over 100 years while providing the latest in technology to meet our customers’ banking needs,” says Anderson. “I am glad to be a part of an organization that is community minded and works hard to give back, and I hope to continue to build on the strong foundation that has been laid for me by my predecessors.” Barnes Health Awarded 21 National Telly Awards Barnes Health was recently honored with 21 awards at the 41st Annual Telly Awards national competition. Barnes Health received a total of 15 Telly Awards for television production work associated with campaigns produced for Pikeville Medical Center, three for television production for Pleasant Valley Hospital, two for television production for Huntington Federal Savings Bank and one for a video produced for HD Media. The 15 total awards for Pikeville Medical Center represent more Telly Awards in the hospital category than were achieved by any other hospital in America entered in this year’s competition. “These awards are a direct reflection of the quality of clients Barnes Health represents and how they empower our team to be strategically creative and think outside the box,” says President and CEO Jeff Barnes. “Having our work recognized on a national stage is valuable as we continue to expand our footprint toward serving the marketing needs of health care providers throughout the country.” Davis & Elkins College Awarded NetVUE Grant Davis & Elkins College (D&E) has been awarded a grant from the Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE) to help strengthen and expand its four-year honors program. The initial $24,817 award will fund the program for three years, and an additional $24,817 will be awarded in 2021 when the college raises matching funds to sustain the program in the future. The D&E honors program, initiated in 2019, pairs exceptional students and faculty with a focus on integrating vocational discernment, community and professional engagement and critical thinking through seminar courses, service learning and intraand extracurricular activities with collaborative support from the offices of academic affairs, career services and student life. The program offers students the opportunity to take a sequence of courses that embody the mission of the college through facilitating students’ preparation for thoughtful engagement within their desired vocation. The NetVUE grant will allow the program to expand by including student scholarships, retreats and learning events, vocation evaluations, faculty workshops and an on-campus lecture series. 124 WEST VIRGINIA EXECUTIVE
