Quinn’ s Quill

To kick off last summer, we spent a weekend in New Jersey for Mommy’ s cousin’ s wedding. Then, we explored Jenkinson’ s Boardwalk and Aquarium before dancing the night away in our fancy dresses.

In June, we headed to Snowshoe for the magazine’ s annual retreat. We rode side-by-sides, visited a fire tower, swam in the coolest pool and rode ski lifts. We took the scenic way home and stopped at the Green Bank Observatory, Thorny Mountain Fire Tower in Seneca State Forest and Cranberry Glades.

Our final big trip was celebrating Easter and visiting our great-grandmother in New Smyrna Beach, FL, for spring break this year. We celebrated Easter with a sunrise beach service, swam for hours, flew kites and climbed the 203 steps to the top of the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse.
To celebrate the Fourth of July, we went to Mommy’ s friends’ camp on the Elk River and spent time exploring, swimming and fishing in all the same places they did when they were kids.
A few weeks later, we spent the weekend in Greenbrier County at Watoga State Park and the Greenbrier River. This was our first official camping trip, and we loved sleeping in the camper, searching for crawdads, riding our bikes and making s’ mores.
In August, we took our family trip to Ocean Isle Beach where we made new friends, perfected our boogie boarding and took a day trip to Myrtle Beach to visit Broadway at the Beach and Ripley’ s Aquarium. To wrap up summer, we went to the Columbus Zoo for the Asian Lantern Festival and visited our beach friends at a slide park called Slick City. Then, we headed back to school. I am in second grade now, and my brothers are in kindergarten.
We had a blast at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We celebrated with big family dinners and took plenty of family photos. We also went back to Greenbrier County to explore Lost World Caverns and see The Greenbrier all decked out for Christmas.
Mommy and Daddy always make sure we see plenty of what West Virginia has to offer, and I hope you find time to enjoy it, too! • XOXO,
Quinn Nicole
