Celebrating 10 Years A Decade of Sharp Shooters Written by Kensie Hamilton Fauber

West Virginia Executive is well known for its award programs. We feel this is, in part, due to the amount of energy and effort that is put into selecting the right nominees for each issue. Perhaps the most well-known program, due to its longevity, is Young Guns. This program began shortly after the publication itself in 1999.

For years, our team was approached and asked when we would publish Old Guns or Rusty Muskets for the slightly more mature demographic. While those are memorable and hilarious, we felt that Sharp Shooters was the perfect name for our new awards program that began in 2016.
It has been a wonderful and impactful program for the past decade. The award recipients have been comprised of those who have worked hard to ensure a better future for West Virginia, stayed when, at times, it would have been easier to go and given selflessly to their communities.
It is our honor to have had the opportunity to get to know all the past award winners, and we look forward to continuing the program for decades to come. Join us in celebrating all of West Virginia’ s Sharp Shooters! •
