INNOVATIVE TIRE RECYCLING FUELS LOCAL GROWTH

West Virginia is known for its abundance of natural resources. The Mountain State’ s lush landscape is one of its most valuable assets, and protecting it is vital to the success and protection of the place we call home.

Tim Davis, founder and chief operating officer of Bionic Tire Recycling, decided that after spending 20 years working in aviation and 15 years working in the oil and gas industry, he wanted to do his part to reduce his carbon footprint. This inspired him to start a company that would repurpose tires, cutting carbon emissions by 33 kilograms per tire.
“ The tire material use solves a growing problem of waste tires across the nation,” Davis says.“ It keeps the tires out of the waste stream; bolsters steel recycling along with providing a vital service to tire retailers, trucking companies and solid waste companies; private citizens benefit from the service; and the public enjoys pour-in-place playgrounds to keep children safe.”
