In February 2026, our team traveled to the Eastern Panhandle to host a reception rounding out the Fall 2025 issue of West Virginia Executive. The Bavarian Inn Resort & Brewing Company was the perfect venue for celebrating the businesses, communities and people contributing to the region’ s continued growth. While in the Eastern Panhandle, we made sure to visit some iconic places in Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties.

This two-day adventure began in Berkeley County with visits to DeFluri’ s Fine Chocolates, West Virginia Glass Outlet and Queen Street Gallery and continued with a tour of the West Roundhouse at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Martinsburg Shops. According to the American Society of Civil Engineers, the roundhouse is an important example of mid-19th century industrial building design. Once the tour was through, we compared coloring skills and shared laughs over lunch at Cider Press Deli & Grill.
Once there, we visited Berkeley Springs State Park to see the mineral springs and George Washington’ s Bathtub. We also had Connie Conrad from our team try the Berkeley Springs Natural Spring Water to pay homage to her time as a judge at the 2020 Annual Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting.
Our next stop was Jefferson County, including visits to downtown Shepherdstown and downtown Harpers Ferry. We began the day with breakfast and coffee at Battle Grounds Bakery & Coffee before making the trek to Jefferson Rock— this is a must-do combination any time of year! Next up was grabbing a snack from Bolivar Bread Bakery on our way to Morgan County.
These travel days that we spend gathering social media content are some of our favorites. They allow us to experience the communities we highlight, meet the people behind the businesses and see firsthand the energy driving the region forward. •
