MVB is a founding corporate sponsor of the GameChanger program, a student-led substance use prevention movement focused on creating school environments that curb drug use. The organization achieves this by implementing, monitoring and sustaining GameChanger Student Peer Leadership Programs, while empowering the youth to make healthy choices as they prepare to become the leaders of tomorrow. MVB President Don Robinson is one of the three leaders who have been involved in the program since day one. MVB Director John Ebert also serves as a board member of this charity.
Through the efforts of GameChanger and MVB Bank, 5,785 elementary school students in third through fifth grades from schools in Harrison, Marion and Monongalia counties were treated to a showing of the GameChanger-produced, ageappropriate prevention education film“ You Have What It Takes” in December 2024. In support of the 38-minute film, all students received prevention education workbooks courtesy of GameChanger and MVB Bank.
GameChanger Founder and Executive Director Joe Boczek emphasized that this initiative demonstrates GameChanger and MVB Bank’ s ongoing commitment to educating West Virginia students about the dangers of opioids, substance use and fentanyl.
“ Opioids, substance use and fentanyl continue to be the number one threat to our kids, families and communities,” says Robinson.“ I am so pleased with the results GameChanger continues to achieve,
not only in our schools but in our communities as well.”
As MVB continues to grow and evolve, its team members remain trusted partners in local communities. With banking centers at 1000 Johnson Ave. in Bridgeport and 406 West Main St. in Clarksburg, MVB is proud to serve Harrison County.
