Clarksburg Utility Project Supports Community
From small businesses to largescale development, Harrison County has been a center of growth for many years. Clarksburg Water Board( CWB) plays an important role in the process. With roughly 8,000 customers, plus additional systems served, CWB has an undeniable impact on the county’ s utilities— a responsibility they take incredibly seriously.
CWB is dedicated to continuously improving its service, both in terms of infrastructure and personal interactions. This mission is near and dear to the heart of General Manager Jason Myers. Myers took the helm of CWB in 2021 and hit the ground running, prioritizing vital projects ever since. In fact, the largest project in the system’ s history is currently in progress, with Phase 1 construction ongoing of its Lead Line Replacement Project.
Impacting four different areas of town, both residential and in the bustling downtown business district, this project is a massive undertaking that has required immense coordination. The work will take several years to complete and will undoubtedly be a part of everyday life for many residents.
That’ s something Myers wanted to address head on. Communication has been key for the project, with multiple public meetings held before construction began in order to notify residents of what to expect. Social media updates, press releases and mailers sent directly to customers have all been part of the process as well as a dedicated website that provides detailed information and consistent updates throughout the project.
“ We’ re incredibly excited to be taking this project on and are dedicated to making it a success for our customers and community,” Myers says.“ We appreciate everyone’ s patience and interest in the project and look forward to continuously making progress!”
