West Virginia University Industrial Extension ( WVUIE ) serves as the state ’ s representative in a federally funded , public-private initiative aimed at providing innovative solutions to manufacturers across America . Targeting small- and medium-sized enterprises , the WVUIE empowers these businesses with guidance and educational resources essential for maintaining profitability , fostering expansion and nurturing talent retention . WVUIE is one of 51 centers executing the national mission and functions within the WVU Benjamin M . Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources . Manufacturers receive on-site consulting services that apply practical solutions customized to their specific business models .
A long-standing partnership between WVUIE and STOCKMEIER Urethanes , spanning over a decade , initially focused on cultivating an ISO
9001 quality management system . This collaboration has since evolved to encompass the development of a Responsible Care 14001 management system and ongoing support for comprehensive plant-wide continuous improvement initiatives .
In December , STOCKMEIER Urethanes USA hosted its employee holiday luncheon , where WVUIE incorporated team-building activities . During the event , Christian Martinkat , president and CEO of STOCKMEIER Urethanes USA , and Melissa Martinkat , chief operations officer , presented an appreciation award to WVUIE on behalf of the company and its employees . Moving forward , WVUIE is enthusiastic about continuing its partnership with STOCKMEIER , offering leadership development training throughout 2024 .
