Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education Chapter Created

The Kanawha Valley Chapter has partnered with Bridge- Valley Community and Technical College , Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia and Nucor Steel of West Virginia . Selected students will attend classes two days per week and work at their sponsor employer ’ s facilities three days per week .
Nationwide , more than 400 employers utilize the FAME model to build a skilled workforce . Over 1,500 students have graduated from the program in 12 states and 34 locations .

The Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education ( FAME ) provides global-best workforce development through strong technical training , integration of manufacturing core competencies , intensive professional practices and intentional hands-on experience to build the future of the modern manufacturing industry . In 2019 , the FAME program transitioned ownership to the Manufacturing Institute to scale the program on a national level . FAME is designed to partner with any manufacturer interested in building a qualified workforce . The Putnam County Development Authority has been named the lead organization for the first West Virginia FAME chapter .
