LOGAN , WV , NATIVE Eddie Keefer dreamed of being a professional salesperson at a young age .
“ As a child , I can remember working a part-time job cutting grass on a hill that overlooked a car dealership . One day , as I watched the salespeople wearing dress clothes and ties acting very professional walking around talking to customers , I decided at that moment that ’ s what I wanted to be ,” says Keefer , president of Keefer ’ s Powersports and Mountain State Harley-Davidson .
When he got older , Keefer worked at that same car dealership doing general labor , car detailing and running parts until eventually becoming an entry level salesperson .
In July 1988 , he started as a professional salesperson at L & S Chevrolet in Chapmanville , where he became a sales manager and then general manager — a career path he says helped him gain the knowledge and skills needed to run a large , successful automotive dealership .
“ I had become and surpassed the professional salesperson role I had wanted since being a child , but this still wasn ’ t enough ,” Keefer says . “ My dreams became bigger and now
