A native of West Virginia , she received bachelor ’ s degrees in accounting and business management from the University of Charleston ( UC ). Hyre had an early love for learning , leading and guiding others .
When it came time to choose a major and career path , she thought teaching was a natural fit . It was at her first job as an administrative and admissions assistant that Hyre became interested in the inner workings of a business , everything from the economics to the operations and financial management . This sparked a newfound desire that led her to change her studies from education to business , accounting , finance and human resources . Hyre learned a great deal of valuable lessons in the early stages of her career , such as the importance of how to listen and communicate effectively and to always do more than what is expected .
