As summer nears and West Virginia ’ s wild and wonderful has become lush and green once again , the entire state is also springing back to life . Virtual meetings have been replaced with in-person events , creating an exceptionally exciting spring for West Virginians . Gatherings like the Greenbrier and Morgantown annual dinners , the Manufacturing EXPO and Carnaval have brought back the feeling of pre-pandemic normalcy and given attendees the chance to network and share in their Mountaineer pride .
Our West Virginia Executive ( WVE ) team has made it a priority to actively cover the entire state and attend a variety of events that aim to create the foundation for positive changes , like the West Virginia Entrepreneurship Conference , 2022 Women ’ s Leadership Summit and the West Virginia Energy Growth Summit . These experiences have inspired us to work even harder in our mission of shining a positive and hopeful light on the Mountain State .
We place great importance on branching out from our Charleston office , not because we don ’ t love the Capital City , but because it is our duty as a statewide magazine to see and experience West Virginia firsthand . In the past few months , our team has set off to explore many different parts of the state , whether that be revisiting a favorite spot or traveling to one for the first time . From Seneca Rocks , the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve and Blackwater Falls State Park to Greenbrier County , Wheeling and Princeton , we do our best to immerse ourselves in the rugged and
beautiful state . Each drive down our country roads brings a sense of awe and pride in West Virginia and its beauty .
Throughout the past few months , we have embraced local adventure . Here are a few of the WVE team members ’ favorite spring 2022 memories : going rock climbing in Summersville , WV ; attending craft fairs to sell homemade macarons ; spending time with beloved pets ; discovering the joys of parenthood ; attending Carnaval as a WVE cohort ; and hosting the WVE Health Care Hall of Fame party , along with the Celebrate Cabell County reception .
Events , gatherings and adventures have given us an optimistic jump into 2022 . We are looking forward to what summer has in store . •
