SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION The Power of Local Energy Energy Transportation, LLC is a leading natural gas transportation and environmental response provider in West Virginia that specializes in hauling petroleum products and other sensitive chemicals, drum and waste management services, reviews and audits, internal assessments for com- pliance and operations efficiency and confined space work. Along with its sister companies—Applied Construc- tion Solutions, ET360, Enviro Energy Solutions, Energy Resource Group and Elite Midstream—Energy Trans- portation is taking full advantage of the vast opportunities the Mountain State offers in the oil and natural gas industry. This energy empire is owned and operated by the Alvarez family, West Virginia natives driven by a passion for the energy industry, a deep love for the Mountain State and a fierce loyalty to fellow West Virginians. As such, Energy Transportation is dedicated to creating safe, meaningful jobs and keeping work local. “We have developed a business model that services multiple facets of the oil and gas industry, which in turn has allowed us to provide great jobs for West Virginians,” says President David Alvarez. “We aim to hire local so that it in turn benefits our local communities and their economies.” Andria Alvarez Wymer, director of strategic initiatives and planning for Energy Transportation, believes it is paramount that West Virginia continues to take advantage of the opportunities that are available in the oil and gas industry. “I think there is a common miscon- ception that this is just a boom and the jobs aren’t here to stay,” she says. “The resources our industry produces aren’t going anywhere. Energy-related jobs will continue to benefit our local economies and provide better oppor- tunities within our communities.” Local Vendors, Local Impact Energy Transportation and its sister companies have a combined workforce of more than 1,000 during peak season— the majority of whom live within a 60-mile radius of Clarksburg, WV. The company strives to partner with other Mountain State businesses and has more than 200 local vendors it is working with at any given time. For example, the company’s fleet of more than 200 heavy trucks is sourced from Matheny Motors in Parkersburg, WV—its largest vendor. This commitment to keeping money and jobs local has resulted in an increase of 250 jobs in the past two years and equates to more than $500,000 in vehicle licensing fees per year, which directly benefits West Virginia’s roadway infrastructure.
