[ contributors | spring 2018 ] Anne Blankenship Anne Blankenship is the executive director of the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Associa- tion. She has served the oil and gas industry for more than 15 years as an industry lawyer in the environmental, regulato- ry and utility sectors. Blankenship holds under- graduate and graduate degrees in biological sci- ences from Marshall University and a law degree from Capital University. Cathy Bonnstetter Cathy Bonnstetter has covered West Virginia’s business industry as a journalist for more than a decade and now works as an adjunct lecturer at West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in journalism. Melanie Boyd Melanie Boyd is the graphic designer for Ex- ecutive Ink, LLC and its publications. She holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Marietta College and previously worked as the designer for the West Virginia Education Association. Boyd resides in Scott Depot, WV. Charlie Burd Charlie Burd is the ex- ecutive director of the Independent Oil and Gas Association of West Vir- ginia, where he manages the operations and over- sees its legislative efforts. He holds degrees from Mountain State College and Glenville State College and is also a gradu- ate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. Samantha Cart Samantha Cart is an edi- tor for Executive Ink, LLC and its publications. A native of Buffalo, WV, she holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in jour- nalism from West Virginia University. Cart currently lives in Hometown, WV, with her husband, Caleb, and their dog, Wednesday. 14 WEST VIRGINIA EXECUTIVE Rachel Coffman Rachel Coffman is the vice president and direc- tor of creative services at TSG Consulting. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Marshall University and an MBA from the University of Charleston. Coffman is also a graduate of Leadership West Virginia and Leadership Kanawha Valley. Blair Dowler Blair Dowler is the com- munications specialist for the West Virginia Uni- versity (WVU) College of Business and Econom- ics (B&E) and serves as an adjunct instructor in the B&E’s marketing department. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communica- tions from WVU. Kevin Duvall Kevin Duvall, a native of St. Albans, WV, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism from West Virginia Uni- versity (WVU). He is a freelance writer and a student in the Master of Arts and Certification in Secondary Education program at WVU. Duvall resides in Morgantown, WV, with his wife, Kayla. Alicia Elkin Alicia Elkin is a senior manager for the strategic communications team at Signal Group in Wash- ington, DC. A graduate of West Virginia Univer- sity with a degree in pub- lic relations, Elkin enjoys reading and writing
