WVJIT Invests in SensorHubb to Support Food Safety Innovation and Job Creation
The West Virginia Jobs Investment Trust( WVJIT) is proud to announce a $ 400,000 equity investment in Fides Food Service Solutions LLC, doing business as SensorHubb, a Ranson-based software company specializing in food safety monitoring for the hospitality and food service industries.
Founded by industry experts, SensorHubb has developed an innovative software platform that leverages sensory technology to provide continuous, 24 / 7 monitoring for commercial refrigeration and storage units. The company’ s centralized dashboard enables users to monitor data from multiple sensors across various locations, streamlining food safety compliance and quality control.
The WVJIT investment will provide working capital to support SensorHubb’ s ongoing growth and expansion. The company plans to hire nine to 10 new employees in West Virginia over the next three years, with salaries ranging from $ 60,000 to $ 100,000, depending on role and commissions.

Highmark Announces Sheehy as President- Elect of Highmark West Virginia Inc.
Highmark recently announced John“ Jay” Sheehy III as president-elect of Highmark West Virginia Inc., effective July 21. He will become president of the organization on January 3, 2026, upon the retirement of President Jim Fawcett.
In this role, Sheehy will provide strategic oversight, vision and leadership of the Mountain State’ s largest health insurer, which proudly serves more than a quarter-million members across its employer-based Medicare Advantage, Affordable Care Act and Medicaid products.
During his nearly 30-year career in the health industry,
Sheehy has achieved consistent business growth while building high-performing teams and delivering a memorable customer experience. Sheehy has held numerous leadership roles related to underwriting, segment and product innovation. He most recently served as chief underwriting officer for health benefits company Gravie. Previously, Sheehy was senior vice president of product innovation for EmblemHealth, global head of health for American International Group and chief underwriting officer and head of health care reform for Aetna.

Sheehy succeeds Fawcett, who is retiring after more than 35 years of distinguished service and leadership at Highmark. He has served as Highmark West Virginia segment president since 2016 and previously held other key leadership positions. Fawcett was also instrumental in creating the Highmark West Virginia Charitable Fund for Health.

The Jefferson County Convention & Visitors Bureau( CVB) was recently honored during the annual Governors Conference on Tourism, held at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place. The CVB won the Almost Heaven Achievement Award for Best Advertising and Marketing Campaign.
The annual Almost Heaven Achievement Awards are an opportunity for the West Virginia Department of Tourism to recognize industry partners across the state for their achievements in advertising, marketing and public relations and for their contributions to the tourism industry in West Virginia.
