Every day , professionals across the board are working to improve the Mountain State , giving their all to ensure that their respective fields are making a noticeable impact on their communities . These leaders represent hard work , a determination for achieving their goals and a love for their home state that inspires them to stay and do all they can to move it forward , all while still having many years of their career ahead of them .
This year ’ s Young Guns class contains 10 individuals who showcase these traits and put the same kind of effort and care into their vastly different areas of work . The nominees represent the Metro Valley , Mountaineer Country , Northern Panhandle and Hatfield-McCoy Mountains , proving almost every corner of the state is benefiting from the energy they put into their work and communities .
The Young Guns photoshoot features many impressive locations , including the Almost Heaven Cabins ; the Almost Heaven Swing at the Chief Logan Lodge and Conference Center ; Chief Logan State Park ; an airboat in Matewan ; and the Hatfield-McCoy Trails , one of the largest off-highway vehicle trail systems in the world .
Each person selected to be a Young Gun must live and work in West Virginia , be 43 years of age or younger at the time of selection , excel in their career and be an active participant in their community .
